seasons in the National League. They
were established as the Houston Colt .45s in 1962. The current name was adopted three years later when
they moved into the Astrodome, the
world's first domed sports stadium. The
team's nickname is 'Stros. With the
Astros move to the American League, their new permanent interleague rival is
the Colorado Rockies. National
League's rivals were Texas Rangers. The

1961 The Rangers
The Rangers are based in Arlington, Texas. The franchise is currently a member of the Western Division of American League. The team's name is borrowed from the famous law enforcement agency of the same name. The franchise was established in 1961 as the Washington Senators, an expansion team awarded to Washington, D.C., after the city's first ballclub, the original Washington Senators, moved to Minnesota and became the Twins. After the 1971 season, the new Senators moved to Arlington, Texas, and debuted as the Rangers the following spring. The Rangers have won five Division titles, two American League pennants and they lost World Series in 2010 and 2011.
1961 The Halos
The Angels are a professional baseball team based in Anaheim, California, member of the West Division of American League. The "Angels" name is a tribute to the previous Los Angeles Angels who played in South Central Los Angeles from 1903 to 1957. The Halos is the team nickname. The Angels have developed many rivalries in, and outside of their division. They include New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Angels have won eight Division titles, one American League pennant and one World Series championship in 2002.

1901 The Swingin' A's
The Athletics are a MLB team based in Oakland, California. They are a member of the Western Division of American League. The club was founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1901 as the Philadelphia Athletics. The team left Philadelphia for Kansas City in 1955 and became the Kansas City Athletics. They are most prominently nicknamed "the A's", in reference to the Gothic script "A", a trademark of the team and the old Athletics of Philadelphia. Other nicknames are The Swingin' A's, The White Elephants, The Elephants, The Green and Gold. The A's have won 16 Division titles, 15 American League pennants and 9 World Series championships in 1910, 1911, 1913, 1929, 1930, 1972, 1973, 1974 and 1989.

The Yankees are based in the Bronx borough of New York City that competes in the American League's East Division. The club was founded in 1901 as the Baltimore Orioles. The team moved to New York City in 1903 and became the New York Highlanders, before taking the "Yankees" as their official name in 1913. The nicknames are The Bronx Bombers, The Yanks, The Pinstripers, The Bronx Zoo, The Evil Empire. The Yankees' rivalry with the Boston Red Sox is one of the most well-known rivalries in sports. The Red Sox are based in Boston, Massachusetts, and a member of American League Eastern Division. The "Red Sox" name was chosen by the team owner, John I. Taylor, around 1908, following previous Boston teams that had been known as the "Red Stockings". Other nicknames are The Sox, The BoSox, The Olde Towne Team. Red Sox history has been marked by the team's intense rivalry with the Yankees, arguably the fiercest and most historic in North American professional sports. They have won eight World Series championships - 1903, 1912, 1915, 1916, 1918, 2004, 2007 and 2013. Following their recent victory in the 2013 World Series, they became the first, and so far, only team to win three World Series trophies in the 21st century.

1894 The Tigs
The Tigers are baseball team located in Detroit, Michigan. They are the oldest continuous one-name, one-city franchise in the Central Division of American League. Their commonly known nicknames are The Tigs, The Bengals, The Motor City Kitties. In 1905, the team acquired Ty Cobb, a fearless player with a mean streak, who came to be regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. The Tigers have won 6 Division titles, 11 American League Pennants and 4 World Series championships in 1935, 1945, 1968 and 1984.

1894 The Wahoos
The Indians are based in Cleveland, Ohio. They are in the Central Division of American League. The "Indians" name originates from a request by the club owner to decide on a new name, following the 1914 season. Common nicknames for the Indians include The Tribe and the Wahoos, the latter being a reference to their logo, Chief Wahoo. The Indians have won seven AL Central titles, the most in the division. Since their establishment as a Major League franchise in 1901, the Indians have won two World Series championships, in 1920 and 1948.

1894 The ChiSox
The White Sox are located in the south side of Chicago, Illinois. They play in the American League's Central Division. The White Sox are one of two major league clubs based in Chicago, the other being the Chicago Cubs of the National League. The club was originally called the Chicago White Stockings, after the nickname abandoned by the Cubs, and the name was soon shortened to Chicago White Sox, believed to have been because the paper would shorten it to Sox in the headlines. Their other nicknames are The Sox, The ChiSox, The Good Guys. They have won three World Series titles - 1906, 1917, 2005.
1894 The O's
The Orioles are based in Baltimore, Maryland. They are a member of the Eastern Division of American League. They spent till 1901 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as the Milwaukee Brewers before moving to St. Louis to become the St. Louis Browns. After 52 years in St. Louis, the Browns moved to Baltimore in 1954 and adopted the Orioles name in honor of the official state bird of Maryland. Nicknames for the team include the O's and the Birds. The Orioles have won a total of eight Division Championships, six Pennants, two Wild card berths and three World Series Championships - 1966, 1970, 1983.
